E3 2017: The Controller You Don’t Want to Drop on Your Foot is Coming Back

Remember the original Xbox controller? Aka the DUKE? Yes, the one you would break your toes with if you dropped it, well, it’s coming back.

It’s quite a fitting announcement, seeing as Xbox Original Games were also revealed to be coming to backward compatibility. The controller will be compatible with the entire Xbox One family of consoles, as well as Windows 10 PCs.

In case you’re wondering, this will be the true original controller. Not the one that Microsoft released soon after the original, which was slightly smaller in size.

The new DUKE will indeed come with a few tweaks however. The Duke sports a faithful recreation of the original controller’s form-factor with some updated features: a logo display screen, left and right bumpers, and a 9 ft. detachable cable. Still wouldn’t want to drop this on my foot though…
