Netflix is producing The Witcher TV series

It’s been revealed that Netflix is set to produce a TV series based on the critically acclaimed The Witcher series.

This is said to be based on the eight novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, which ultimately inspired the hit games that we all know and love.

Andrzej Sapkowski will act as creative consultant on the series, stating “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing.”

It was also revealed that Tomas Baginski, who is known for directing the intro for all three of The Witcher games, as well as the Cyberpunk 2077 teaser trailer, will direct an episode (or more) per season.

Sean Daniel and Jason Brown followed up by stating “The Witcher stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world. The characters are original, funny and constantly surprising and we can’t wait to bring them to life at Netflix, the perfect home for innovative storytelling.”
