Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Will Arrive Without Multiplayer

Earlier this week, rumors began to circulate that a Modern Warfare 2 remaster was in the works, and now, the plot seems to have thickened. Several sites, including EuroGamer are reporting that inside sources have confirmed to them that the game is indeed legit, with one shocking omission.

Apparently, the game will not include a multiplayer component. It’s also being reported that Beenox, the team which assisted Raven Software with the Modern Warfare remaster, are solely responsible for the development process of its remastered sequel.

Activision has yet to officially announce this themselves, but with multiple sources all stating the same thing, I think it’s safe to assume that this is the real deal. The lack of multiplayer would also explain the generous price tag.

The only logical explanation for cutting the multiplayer aspect of the game is that the higher ups probably don’t want to spread the player base too thinly across their titles. That, and there were far more players playing Modern Warfare Remastered than there were players playing Infinite Warfare, so on that note, it again makes sense. Still, it’s bound to hit home pretty hard for fans that were hoping for some online fun.

Rare is Hard at Work Addressing These Issues

Sea of Thieves finally launched yesterday, but it was far from what one would describe as a smooth voyage. Outside of the irritating server issues that prevented many players from joining, players are also reporting some strange bugs.

Bugs include spawning in with no clothing, gold, or items, to the less dominant issues, such as achievements not unlocking. Rare assures its fans that many of these issues are being worked on as we speak, to which you can check out some updates regarding the status of each, right here.

Hopefully the powers that be can squash these as soon as possible, so that fans can get back in the game and continue their adventures. Stay tuned for more.

A Way Out Gets a New Trailer

One of the most interesting games to arrive this week is the hugely anticipated A Way Out, and to gear you up for the experience at hand, a new trailer has been set loose, as seen above.

From Hazelight Studios, creators of Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons comes an exclusively co-op adventure unlike anything you’ve played before. Join Vincent and Leo, two inmates who must work together to escape in an action-packed story.

Your path to freedom will require you to solve puzzles, complete minigames, talk, shoot, fight, sneak, drive, and run as you navigate the dangers inside the prison walls and beyond. The game is set to arrive on March 23rd, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Origin for PC.

Star Wars Battlefront 2’s Progression Update is Live

Star Wars Battlefront 2, now there’s a controversial game, but that’s for another time. Fans will be happy to know that the long awaited progression update, which massively overhauls the progression system, is now live in the game.

Not only that, but the update also unlocks all currently available Heroes and Hero Ships for everyone. With all characters now having a Unit Level, the devs don’t want to limit anyone’s chance to progress as they change the way you interact with these characters.

Bespin also makes its return from the first Star Wars Battlefront as a new location for Blast, Heroes vs. Villains, Arcade, and for a limited time as Jetpack Cargo. Check out the notes in their entirety right here.

SkyForge Expands With Overgrowth in April

Overgrowth will be the next free expansion for MMORPG Skyforge, announced by its developer Allods Team and its global publisher My.com. This expansion introduces a wild new class for players to unlock, called the Grovewalkers.

They are highly proficient mages that sling wild nature magic at their foes from afar. Though initially nimble in appearance; they can call upon the protection of their living armor and morph into hulking frontline tanks.

A sight to behold and a feature that will transform combat in Skyforge forever! ‘Overgrowth’ will also let players rediscover Aelion through reworked story missions and completely new challenges system! The expansion is planned on April 11th for PC and on April 12th for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

THQ Nordic and Nickelodeon to Revive Titles From the Past

THQ Nordic and Nickelodeon today announced the global revival of several game titles connected with Nickelodeon properties, including;

– Avatar: The Last Airbender
– Back At The Barnyard
– Catscratch
– Danny Phantom
– El Tigre
– Invader Zim
– Jimmy Neutron
– My Life As A Teenage Robot
– Rocket Power
– Rocko’s Modern Life
– Rugrats
– SpongeBob SquarePants
– Tak And The Power Of JUJU
– The Fairly OddParents (US only)
– The Ren & Stimpy Show
– The Wild Thornberrys

“The appetite for Nickelodeon content old and new continues to grow and it’s exciting to bring our beloved content to new audiences through this partnership with THQ Nordic,” said Jon Roman, Senior Vice President, Toys, Nickelodeon. “These titles were popular when they were first released and we can’t wait for fans around the world to rediscover their favorites.”

“This one hits close to home! We are very proud of signing this agreement, which was originally executed by the “former” THQ Inc,” comments Adrienne Lauer, VP Digital Sales & Business Development Americas at THQ Nordic. “We believe the combination of strong licenses and solid, crisp gameplay was one of THQ Inc’s trademark strategies, and we intend to continue this tradition. I am confident we chose one of the strongest partners for doing just that. It is a perfect fit for our “asset care” strategy: bringing back fan-favorites, continuing to support legacy games and make them available on current and even next-gen platforms.”

This in particular, is a surprising announcement, but one I’ve no doubt we’ll learn more about in the coming months. Standby for more.

Black Ops 3 Zombies Maps Are Now Available Individually

Activision has announced that Black Ops 3’s zombie maps are now available to purchase individually, without having to purchase the additional multiplayer maps.

Origins, Revelations, Kino der Toten, Shadows of Evil, Der Eisendrache, Nacht der Untoten, Moon, and Ascension, can each be purchased for $7.99/£6.39. If you’re a fan of the zombies aspect of this series, and not so much the multiplayer, this is certainly worth your time and attention.

Brigitte is Now Live in Overwatch

Brigitte—a former mechanical engineer turned squire who fights on the front lines to protect those in need, is now live in the critically acclaimed Overwatch.

Brigitte specializes in armor. She can throw Repair Packs to heal teammates, or automatically heal nearby allies when she damages foes with her Flail. Her Flail is capable of a wide swing to strike multiple targets, or a Whip Shot that stuns an enemy at range.

When entering the fray, Barrier Shield provides personal defense while she attacks enemies with Shield Bash. Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, gives her a substantial short-term boost of speed and provides long-lasting armor to all her nearby allies.

Lumines Remastered Announced

Lumines Remastered brings minimalism to the puzzle genre where the fusion of light and sound sets the stage for a two-color falling block experience playable on-the-go on Nintendo Switch or at home in 4K on PC and consoles.

Groove to electronic jams while strategically dropping blocks before the BPM bar sweeps combos clean after each measure. It’s said to be a stylish game perfect to play anywhere or at anytime.

It’s been revealed that the game will be available digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in May 2018. Check out the trailer below.

Earth Atlantis Coming to Xbox One and PS4 in Q2 2018

Headup Games and Pixel Perfex announce Earth Atlantis for Xbox One and PS4. The action-filled shooter is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a climate shift has struck the earth and marked civilization’s downfall. With most of the land now being completely flooded, life is only possible beneath the ocean.

Mankind’s main capitals are destroyed and lay at the bottom of the sea, as ruins of steel and stone. The machines have found their place in this new environment and now roam the seas as terrifying hybrids of creatures and machines.

The unique visuals of Earth Atlantis feature the style of old sketches, reminiscing a time where sea exploration commenced and the sea was believed to be inhabited by fantastic as well as dangerous creatures. Now, once again, the world has to be discovered. Board one of four individual submarines – each with different advantages and weaponry. Hunt down huge bosses in an intense retro style side-scrolling shooter. The game is set to release on both platforms, in Q2 2018.
