The internet blew up earlier this week when CD Projekt RED reactivated the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account by tweeting out a simple “beep”, the first tweet from the account in years. Sadly this came without any further details, but according to a recent leak, fans will start seeing much more activity throughout the year.
According to YouTuber LegacyKillaHD, an anonymous Sony employee claims that CD Projekt RED sent out a tech demo of the game to Sony. The Sony employee has suggestively disclosed that the game’s engine is now ready to be populated with missions, areas, and objectives.
The demo also showcased that sections of the world had been completed, however the employee made a note that the game still requires one – two years of further development. This means that (if true) we wont see the game releasing until next year or the year after, but we may well indeed see the game running at E3 2018.
Rumors suggest that CD Projekt RED will begin releasing the lore of the game this year, which would explain the activity of the aforementioned Twitter account. As with all leaks, it’s best to take this with a pinch of salt. In any case it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on. Stay tuned and as always, we’ll keep you in the loop.
