Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – Sega/RGG
The Yakuza/Like a Dragon series has gone from strength to strength in recent years, bolstered by more timely localisations to the West, as well as prominent inclusion in Game Pass. The latest release sees series stalwarts Kiryu and Ichiban team up in Hawaii, where they’ll no doubt indulge in some ass kicking, beer drinking, darts, billiards, hotel management… If you’ve played one of the prior titles, you’ll understand what resident Tavern lad Graham means when he calls them ‘procrastination simulators’, and this one has been promised to be one of the most packed entries yet.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – Ubisoft
Long delayed, and perhaps lacking the buzz it had built up when it was announced, but Ubisoft’s PoP revival is nearly upon us. Returning to the series 2D roots, this action adventure game has the potential to crate an early year winner, but we’ll have to wait a few weeks to find out if they’ve pulled it off.

The Spy Who Shot Me – PixelHeart
It might be a few years old by now (the trailer above for the PC release id from 2019) but I’m a sucker or retro-styled FPS games, and this more slapstick approach has piqued my interest. Without reading up too much or checking out reviews, I have this down as something that might be a good start to the year’s gaming – not long to wait to see if my blind faith is justified!
